エドウィン・S・ガウスタッド

1923年に生まれる。1951年、ブラウン大学で博士号取得。カリフォルニア大学リヴァーサイド校名誉教授（歴史学、宗教学）。2011年歿。著書「Neither King nor Prelate」（1993年）、「Sworn on the Altar of God」（1996年）、「Liberty of Conscience」（1999年）、「The New Historical Atlas of Religion America （共著、2001年、全米図書賞受賞）、「A Documentary History of Religion in America」（共著、2003年）、「Benjamin Franklin」（2006年）、「Roger Williams」（2007年）ほか。
