タラ・ザーラ

1976年、アメリカ生まれ。スワースモア大学卒、ミシガン大学Ph.D（歴史学）。シカゴ大学歴史学部准教授を経て、現在、同教授。専門は近現代中東欧史。単著として、Kidnapped Souls: National Indifference and the Battle for Children in the Bohemian Lands, 1900-1948 (Ithaca, 2008), The Lost Children: Reconstructing Europe’s Families after World War II (Cambridge, MA, 2011〔『失われた子どもたち』三時・北村監訳、みすず書房〕), The Great Departure: Mass Migration from Eastern Europe and the Making of the Free World (New York, 2016) がある。最初の本は、ローラ・シャノン賞をはじめとして5つの賞を受賞。二作目となる『失われた子どもたち』もジョージ・ルイス・ベア賞などを受賞し、イタリア語に翻訳されている。
