ローベルト・ゲルヴァルト

1976年ベルリン生まれ。ユニバーシティ・カレッジ・ダブリン現代史教授および同大学戦争研究センター所長。専攻は近現代ヨーロッパ史、とくにドイツ史。著書に、The Bismarck Myth: Weimar Germany and the Legacy of the Iron Chancellor, Oxford and New York: Oxford University Press 2005（フレンケル賞受賞）、Hitler’s Hangman: The Life of Heydrich, New Haven and London: Yale University Press 2011（『ヒトラーの絞首人ハイドリヒ』宮下嶺夫訳、白水社、2016）、The Vanquished: Why the First World War Failed to End, 1917-1923, London: Allen Lane 2016（『敗北者たち』小原淳訳、みすず書房、2019）、Die größte aller Revolutionen: November 1918 und der Aufbruch in eine neue Zeit, Siedler Verlag 2018（『史上最大の革命』大久保・小原・紀・前川訳、みすず書房、2020）などがある。
