タラ・ザーラ

1976年、アメリカ生まれ。スワースモア大学卒、ミシガン大学Ph.D（歴史学）。シカゴ大学歴史学部准教授を経て、現在、同教授。専門は近現代中東欧史。単著1作目Kidnapped Souls: National Indifference and the Battle for Children in the Bohemian Lands, 1900-1948（2008）で、ローラ・シャノン賞をはじめ5つの賞を受賞。2作目The Lost Children: Reconstructing Europe’s Families after World War II （2011、『失われた子どもたち』三時・北村監訳、みすず書房）もジョージ・ルイス・ベア賞などを受賞。2014年にマッカーサー財団「天才賞」を受賞。5作目Against the World: Anti-Globalism and Mass Politics Between the World Wars（2023、『世界に背を向けて』齋藤慎子訳、みすず書房）。
